Prawns- Chingri Malai Curry
Samayita here after completing my 100th blog in Intellectual drivers thought of writing something about food which I enjoy the most after my Business development job, I lived my first 17 years in coastal area called Andaman’s, Port Blair to be specific, my father was merchant navy captain and then port Pilot and advantage of him being in Govt service was I had life of a princess, I used to get the best food , dress and we used to have 24hrs servant and car at that time in late 80s and 90s, It was usual ritual in my house to go for weekend trips to near by islands with Ma and Baba or family friends…..and yes how can I forget about good sea food, I remember my mom preparing Prawns curry in many different ways and one which I like the most was Prawn (Chingrii as pronounce in Bangla) Malai Curry….she still prepares but Bay of Bengal we used to get fresh prawns n now we have to manage with frozen one’s….Ingredients for Malai curry includes Mustard oil, Mustard seeds, Mustard paste, fresh grated coconut, coconut milk, salt and sugar according to taste……
