My version of Bangalore Iyenger bakery Rava cake for diet conscious
I like rava in any form, during my stay in PG's or rented houses i used to make the upma premix and store it for 3 months. Thanks to my friend shweta kagliwal who introduced me to this. then now i am using it for my veg version of french toast.....i use them in mathari, namkeen and many other thing...Once i went to bhopal to meet my friend ekta and she said she wanted me to get rawa cake from iyenger bakery near my house....i just thought whats so great about it ...so tried making rawa cake. Herein i have made sugar free rawa cake....
Following ingredients have been used
Method of Preparation:
In a mixing bowl add melted butter and mix 1/4 cup sugar free and mix it till its light yellowish texture, add roasted suji and maida and then add curd and milk around 1/2 cup and another 1/4 cup and add vanilla essence and allow it to rest it for half an hour
Meanwhile Pre heat air fryer at 180*c for 10 min. After 30 min rest add cardamom powder, baking powder and baking soda and mix it well, of you feel the batter is dry add milk as required. I required 1 cup of milk thus added the whole amount. Now add the dry fruits and mix well and allow it to bake at 180*c for 40 mins or you can take out before when the tooth pick comes out clean completely.
After the cake cools for 10 mins, heat a pan add 1/4 cup water, boil it and let it cool add the rest sugarfree into water and mix it. Cut the cake into two equal proportion, add sugar free syrup at the center part and the top with the brush. add it generously and let it soak. After 2-3 hours taste the cake its yummy
Following ingredients have been used
- 1/2 cup melted salted butter (i used amul butter)
- 1/2 cup Sugarfree (i used 3/4 while mixing with butter and rest made sugar syrup)
- 1.5 cup roasted suji/semolina
- 1/2 cup maida
- 1/4 cup curd
- 1 cup cold milk
- 3/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- dry fruits (qs) (i used cut hazelnut, pista, almond all roasted and kishmish)
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
